Love horses and books... but can seem to find any quality horse fiction that are not super boring or cheesy? Or can't seem to find wholesome fantasy fiction with an emphasis on horses?
Or do you want to write your own equine-filled stories but not sure where to start?
Meet Allie Lynn, founder of Equine on the Mind, a community site for horse-lovers seeking to both explore and create unique storyworlds. Where, as Allie Lynn puts it: "where the horse-crazy writers of this world can find the resources they need to write the next generation of excellent equine fiction."
Allie Lynn also adds: "Even though equine fiction is one of the most popular sub-genres in the world, it’s hard to find fiction that doesn’t carry all of the tropes that we horse-savvy people abhor."
So true!
I cannot for the life of me remember how I stumbled upon this site, and part of me wished I had discovered it a long time ago. Not only I came to learn a little more from her writing tips, I immediately fell in love with a few of her equine fantasy stories posted on her blog. My favorite of all time is Chance's Wings, on of a few stories set in an epic world of proud pegasus tribes, a powerful council of alicorns, deadly unicorn clans, and strong herds of horses... and an ancient prophecy involving two special fillies... and the return of the Almighty King.
Though Allie Lynn has yet to publish, I am rooting for her. She's a very gifted writer!
