Whew! May has flown by so quickly! One moment, it was May 1st. The next thing you know, June is literally around the corner! But that's life.

Whenever I want to take a break from epic/high fantasy, I find some sweet fairytale retellings. And my all-time favorite fairytale is Cinderella.

THIS IS THE BEST CINDERELLA MOVIE!!!!
THIS IS THE BEST CINDERELLA MOVIE!!!!

Now there are THOUSANDS of retellings, and it's easy to get overwhelmed. Plus, almost 99 % of fairytale retellings are centered on romance.

"But isn't that normal?" You ask.

Before I continue, there's NOTHING WRONG with romance. But as a reader, I prefer books with a romance subplot. Meaning romance is not the main focus.

When it comes to fairytale retellings, if they're romances, I prefer them short and sweet. Or even deep, wholesome, and meaningful enough to warm my heart! Especially if the story is done well.

Like these!

About the series:

Spring has sprung with these seven swoony sweet retellings. Each novella finds its happily ever after amidst themes of rebirth, hope, and new life. Each book is fully independent, and they can be read in any order.

Note: Due life-happenings for the author, Bleeding Heart by Kendra A. Ardnek will be released on a much later date. Otherwise, the rest are all available.

Aren't these gorgeous?! I think so!

Confession, I'm a paperback person first, and I'd like my eBooks short enough to read on my Kobo. Because of that, so far I only read two of these books: Peaflower by Jessica Tanner and Snapdragon by Sarah Beran. Both of those books were LOVELY!

Tomorow, I'll be posting a double book review for these!

In the meantime, there are some wonderful fairytale retellings out there, especially with a focus on romance. But I even found a few retellings where the focus is not on romance. Some are told as if a high fantasy adventure or journey. Others are centered on friendships and families. Even about overcoming personal struggles.

Rather than go on and on, below are my top favorite retellings. Click on the cover to check them out!

And these are the retellings I plan to read:

How about you? Do you have a favorite fairytale retelling? Or two?
