A Thanksgiving Post

Hi, fellow readers! Thanksgiving is tomorrow, full of feasting, fun, and (hopefully) family! As I was preparing this post, I felt Papa-God ask a simple question:
What are you thankful for?
It's very easy to get caught up in needs, unmet dreams, or even unfulfilled desires. It’s understandable to get lost in the crazy busyness called life. It’s even normal to feel... “stuck” when everyone else seems to pass you by on a road called life/success/etc...
It’s also super easy to forget what we already have and to be grateful for it. At least it is for me.
So, even though we could do it any other day, Thanksgiving began (not with the Pilgrims and the Native American tribes) with a desire to thank God for the many blessings He gave us!
So... I’m thankful for:
• My family (Mom, Pop, my two sisters and brother; Grandma, uncles and aunts, and the many cousins!)
My friends (both from childhood and my church home)
A home to live in
My job as a librarian
My pet cat Lily
The time to write and publish my books ("The Aethon Chronicles” and “Light Horse Dark Horse”)
The time to write and (hopefully) share many more stories.
The readers who bought my books and are (hopefully) enjoying them
Jessica A. Tanner, a fellow fantasy author whose awesome books and quirky, writer-fun blog posts and newsletters inspired me. I'll never forget that encouraging email about Sky Cowboys, the inspiration behind my future western-fantasy novel (announcement coming soon!) I might even consider her my distant online writer friend!
Allie Lynn, creator of Equine on the Mind, which gave me hope that I’m not the only horse-crazy (semi-)adult fantasy lover!
The MANY books I discovered that inspired me not only as a writer, but as a person as well!
And the MANY MORE books I will discover!
But above all:
I’m grateful for my Lord, Savior, Papa, Brother, and greatest friend we’ll ever have:
JESUS CHRIST,
who saved my life—physically and spiritually.
Now, as you prepare for a Thanksgiving full of feasting, fun, and family, I hope you take the time to slow down, pause, and think about what you are thankful for.

Now for some fun!!!
My favorite Thanksgiving foods are:
• Ham
• Mac and cheese
• Chocolate cake, pineapple cake (without the pineapples), and brownies

My favorite Thanksgiving food would have to be my momma's dressing.
